Who is behind SLC Senior Advisor?

SLC Senior Advisor is a privately owned placement and guidance service for older adults and their families across the Salt Lake Valley and Tooele County; it has no connection to the State of Utah, DLBC, Salt Lake County or any facility, and it does not run any care setting itself.

Our job is translation: turning Utah's licensing rule, the state's inspection records and the Medicaid and VA program rules into plain answers, then helping a family shortlist licensed places near the people who will visit. Each claim on the site points to the rule, agency page or data file it came from, so you never have to take our word for it.

Who pays SLC Senior Advisor, and why does that matter?

Our revenue comes from placement fees that licensed communities pay after a family we helped moves in; the family is never billed.

Any fee-based referral service has a pull toward the providers that pay, and good options exist that do not. So ask us about any license on the DLBC roster, fee-paying or not, and we will walk you through its public record the same way. If a recommendation from us does not come with a reason you can check, treat it with suspicion.

Why does the directory rely only on government data?

Our listings come only from Utah DLBC's licensing and inspection records and, for nursing homes, CMS Care Compare, because those are the only sources that apply the same standard to every provider.

That rules out marketing descriptions, online reviews, sponsored placement and any score of our own. When a number a family wants does not exist in public data, such as a memory care price or a Salt Lake City cost figure, the page says it does not exist rather than filling the gap.

How can families contact SLC Senior Advisor?

Write to advisors@slcsenioradvisor.com, or answer the short care-match questions on any page and a member of our team will be in touch; operators who see a display error in their listing can use the same address.

For an emergency, call 911. To report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a vulnerable adult in Utah, call Adult Protective Services at 1-800-371-7897.

Which communities does SLC Senior Advisor serve?

Every city and township in Salt Lake County, from Salt Lake City and West Valley City to Herriman, Bluffdale and Magna, plus Tooele County, including Tooele and Grantsville.

Bountiful, Layton and the rest of Davis County, and Provo, Orem and the rest of Utah County, are outside our directory; our guides explain how the same state rules apply there.

Who is Juniper in the chat window?

Juniper is the name of our site's chat helper: it opens a short set of care-match questions, and a real advisor from our team follows up by email or phone with options that fit.

The chat does not give medical or legal advice and does not make placement decisions. You can skip it entirely and email us, or use the directory and guides on your own.
